Apex Trader Funding is a popular futures-only prop firm that made significant rule changes in March 2026. They reduced the profit target to 6% and introduced a weekly six-step payout ladder system. The first $25,000 earned is 100% kept by the trader, then a 90/10 split applies.
Apex offers two drawdown types: End-of-Day (EOD) and Intraday trailing. EOD accounts update the drawdown only at market close (4:59 PM ET), while Intraday accounts trail in real-time. EOD accounts require a $99 activation fee on top of the monthly subscription.
The payout system uses a 6-step ladder where withdrawal caps increase at each step, with limits removed entirely after the sixth payout. Before the first payout, traders need 8 trading days with at least 5 qualifying days. A 50% consistency rule ensures no single day contributes more than half of total profits.
Apex allows up to 20 simultaneous accounts for multi-account scaling, potentially reaching $300K+ in total capital. Platforms include Rithmic and Tradovate for CME futures execution.
Apex Trader Funding is a respected platform in the prop trading space. This comparison is based on publicly available information as of April 2026 and is intended to help traders make informed decisions.
